1. It was the only solution to the communal problem/ no other option.
2. The League had joined the Interim Government to obstruct and not to cooperate.
3. The only alternative was a federation with a weak centre.
4. Any further continuation of the British rule would mean greater calamity.
5. Further delay would cause a civil war.
6. Partition would rid the Constitution of separate electorates.
7. A smaller India with a strong central authority was better than a bigger state with a weak centre.
