The influence of Western Education:

  1. It provided opportunities for assimilating ideas of democracy and nationalism.
  2. Educated Indians had access to ideals of liberty, equality, nationality, rule of law and self- Government.
  3. The English language too served as a link language, uniting people and developing a sense of National consciousness.
  4. People in India drew inspiration from the American War of Independence and the French Revolution.
