- Three ruling dynasties were destroyed - Romanov in Russia, Hohenzollern in Germany and Hapsburg in Austria - Hungary
- Ottomans rule came to an end.
- Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia emerged as independent states (Romani, Finland).
- Alsace-Lorraine was restored to France.
- Schleswig - Holstein was given to Denmark
- Austria - Hungry separated
- USA emerged as World Power
- Germany had to surrender the areas of Eupen and Malmedy to Belgium.
