State what would you observe when:

  1. Washing Soda Crystals are exposed to the atmosphere.
  2. The salt ferric chloride is exposed to the atmosphere.

Answer

  1. Washing soda crystals when exposed to atmosphere lose their water of crystalisation partially and crumble to form a powder.
  2. Ferric chloride absorbs moisture when exposed to atmosphere and forms a solution dissolving in the absorbed moisture.
